The following is a list of conservation organizations doing important work  to help conserve species in peril. I have listed organizations that are relative to the species featured in my Vanishing Species Collection.  Click on the link to their sites to learn more.

Rhinoceros

   Save the Rhino supports multiple programs in a number of countries , Their goal is to stop       poaching and habitat loss so that in 20 years time, rhinos will no longer be threatened 

   with extinction.

Helping Rhinos works with partners primarily in Africa to preserve, protect and sustain the species. They also provide information and education about the specoes to local communities and broader populations.

The International Rhino Foundation works to ensure the survival of rhinos through strategic partnerships, targeted protection, and scientifically sound interventions.

It supports projects in Africa and Asia.

Cheetah

Cheetah Conservation Fund works to protect the ecosystem upon which the cheetah depends. They also educate farmers teachers and the public about methods to conserve biodiversity. They also conduct research on the cheetah's life cycle, biology and genetics.

Cheetah Outreach promotes survival of free ranging, South African cheetahs through environmental education and conservation initiatives. Their efforts include managing human-predator conflict, education and research.

Mountain Gorilla

​

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International's work is based on daily protection of mountain gorillas; scientific research on the gorillas and their ecosystems; educating the next generation of scientists and conservationists in Africa; and helping local people with basic needs, so that communities can thrive and work together with the fund.

​

Gorilla Doctors is the only organization in the world dedicated to conserving mountain and eastern lowland (Grauer's) gorillas through veterinary medicine, science and a One Health approach. They work with gorillas in national parks of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Giraffe

The Giraffe Conservation Foundation concentrates on the conservation and management of giraffe in the wild throughout Africa. They are involved with conservation initiatives in 15 African countries. Their research has shown that there are not one, but four species of giraffe.

The Giraffe Conservation Alliance inspires sustainable conservation actions that ensure a positive future for all giraffes. They work to connect people and zoos around the world to giraffe conservation projects in Africa.

Elephant

Save the Elephants is working  to secure a future for elephants and to sustain the beauty and ecological integrity of the places they live; to promote man’s delight in their intelligence and the diversity of their world, and to develop a tolerant relationship between the two species.

The mission of the International Elephant Foundation is to support and operate elephant conservation and education programs in managed facilities and in the wild, with an emphasis on management, protection and scientific research. Since 1999, IEF has provided support to over 120 elephant conservation projects worldwide and is approaching  $5 million in direct financial assistance.

Manatee

The mission of Save The Manatee is to protect manatees and their aquatic habitat for future generations by aiding in the recovery and protection of manatees and their aquatic ecosystems throughout the world.

Sea Turtle

The Sea Turtle Conservancy, formerly known as the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, is the world’s oldest sea turtle research and conservation group. An international nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, Sea Turtle Conservancy was founded in 1959 by world-renowned sea turtle expert Dr. Archie Carr to save sea turtles from eminent extinction through rigorous science-based conservation.
